I have the following:

FDC Live Cockpit (boxed version, updated automatically when installed)
Windows XP 64
FS 9
6gb RAM
i7 940 at 4ghz

Every time I fly with FDC Live Cockpit, I get almost all the way to my destination. Today, I flew from Newark to SFO. At the top of my descent into SFO, CRASH! Again.

The error is: Error 6: Overflow in 'updateblackbox' routine

I'm back to the desktop like FS9 had never started. Only the error message remains. At the beginning of the flight, a pop-up FSUIPC message said "FDC LiveCocpit Aborted" but FS9 continued so I kept going. I think that the "aborted" message happened once before. Even if I don't get that error, FS9 will crash during flight.

What's going on here? I do like to have FDC running but I will be forced to pull it out if this can't be fixed.

One more addition: should I make FDC Live Cockpit >2gb aware? I can mark the exe file. I did that for FS9 and my memory issues disappeared (except for these!)

Just a thought....

I very much doubt FDC would make FS9 crash!

I don't know if my memory is getting worse as I get older...
...I just can't remember how it used to be!

Did you read my note? It crashed! FS9 went away, no more, nada! All that was left was the FDC error I posted. Everytime!

I would like some help rather than a blanket statement that it won't make it crash. That's not really any help at all.

I'm open to suggestions. What does that error mean?

Well it could mean FDC had a problem because it could no longer see FS!!!

I don't think that was the order. First I saw a message that FDC "aborted" but FS9 continued. Then it crashed completely.

Was there a checklist running? Had the VCP just lowered flaps or gear? You see FDC is basically only reading from FSUIPC, apart from those events mentioned.

I assume you are using the latest version of FSUIPC and FDC.

If you would like to email me the blackbox.log in question I will take a look but I am not that hopeful. FS has been known to CTD for many, many reasons and I have yet to have an issued raised where FDC actually caused FS to CTD. But as I say, send me the log and I'll take a look
