Hi.

I've read this:

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=675

and the FAQ... I installed PFE into a new PC (Win7 x64) but I am getting the runtime 91 error in the same situations as in the above thread.

The FAQ says this:

Q: I'm using Vista and when adjusting the FP altitudes after saving them I get an ok then I get a runtime error 91 box popping up. "Object variable or With block variable not set" then it shuts down.
A: Sounds like you may have had a installation problem. Go to your main PFE folder and double click on the file named XInstall3.exe

I have no XInstall3.exe file in PFE (installed from the CD-ROM). So I tried reinstalling PFE into the original location... I get 'registry successful' and choose the original location of the install. Then I run the installer: it immediately quits with no further action.

So please tell me - what should I do now?

Thanks.

Did this ever happen on your old system or is it because you have a brand new PC?
Is your system upto date with all runtime files and dot net framework and it sounds like you may have some files missing and maybe not from PFE.
Maybe Dave M can shed some light...

What version of PFE are you running?

Hi. No, I never had this error before ("Run-time error '91': Object variable or With block variable not set")... only since I installed PFE on the new system (Win7 x64, like the old PC).

My PFE is version 2.15.0 - the updater says this is the latest version. (Do I have to install a manual update?)

I have MS NET 1.1 and MS NET 4.5.1 installed... Are there others that I would need to have for PFE to function correctly? (Apart from this runtime error it works just fine otherwise).

Thanks.

Martin

Just to be clear.. PFE shows the run-time error message and quits when I click on anything at all in the 'Adjust Waypoint Altitudes...' box.

You said in an earlier post you installed from a CD. What version was that?

Hi. Not sure, but as I have so many extra files that I have made over the past few years, I installed PFE from the CD-ROM, then deleted the 'out of the box' installation folder, replacing it with the backed up, larger, PFE folder from my old PC (which has all the files updated from the available files on the website). Both O/Ss are Win7x64.

I did the same for FDC, with no problems...

..I will try installing from scratch, applying all the updates manually as per the pdf instructions and report back. I am perhaps having issues as I just copied the old up-to-date installation to the new PC from the old, after having run the setup from the CD-ROM....

OK, my fault clearly - I assumed that just copying over the 2.15 folders after installation from the CD-ROM would work, but clearly not. I have run all the updates to v2.15 manually, then copied across all my extra flightplans and so forth. No run-time error now..

Thanks.
