I am quite new to fsx and can only apologise if this is an issue that you have already dealt with.

I am using PFE obviously, with FSX win7 64 my system is a mid range system. everything is fine I check in it responds, then nothing I get no voices I just sit at the runway holding point and wait with no response from pilots voice or ATC. Any suggestions?

Thank you

wingit

I get a response giving me authorisation to taxi and an exit altitude but I am sure I am not getting a runway number. I have had another aircraft waiting behind me and he reported the he had to halt because I was there. I am using UK2000 airports and I have run MakeRwys etc.
Regards

John

Make sure you are within 700 feet of the runway start when you are waiting at the holding point if you want an automatic response to tune to the tower. If the holding point you have decided to use is more than 700 feet away from the designated runway start location then you will need to tune to the tower yourself then press the 6 key to ask for take-off clearance.

I am normaly all the way up to the holding point. I think I need to play around with it a little more I get some accurate information of whats happening and to make sure it is not something I am not doing. It is definately not giving me a runway heading, so this time I proceeded to the holding point of the runway that I knew was being used and asked for permission to take off, it said that it could not because no runway heading had been assigned, so I went through the ATC process again from the start but this time from the runway holding point and this time it gave me a runway heading and allowed me to proceed with no problems. Could I be doing something wrong here?

Regards

John

Hi John,

You need to send me the debug_monitor log files from your ...PFE\Logs folder as I suspect you might have some files missing from the installation

John,

Thanks for the log.

You have a very, very old and unsupported version of PFE. The latest version is 2.14 and you are running 2.1 which was released back in July 2008. Please update to the latest version . The easiest way to do this is via the accumulative updates package available right here in the support forum

Thanks, I have upgraded to the latest version and I have tried several flights again and still the same. When departing from EGGD It just keeps telling me that the freq's are 125.35 and 133.85 I get no response normaly just the window telling me what the freq are, and when I do get a response it still does not give me a runway heading or any taxi guidance. If I put the virtual co pilot on mode 2 then nothing at all happens and while in mode 1 no freq changes on the comms.

John
