Thank you very much Dan for that clarification. I am going to copy and paste it into my procedure guide. ;)

Yes, I did read that, I read the whole section on VFR. More than once. Sorry Dave, not sure what that part of text is supposed to explain about my 'problem': I know the frequencies I need to tune to, the arrival airport ground (or tower) frequency, but there's no ATC response on those frequencies af...

I don't fly VFR very often, but thought I'd sort of got the hang of it nevertheless (I usually choose the 'free flight' option). But once I get the 'radio service terminated' message, I always have trouble getting back in touch with ATC. My usual procedure (bit lazy perhaps, but the PF3 manual (yes,...

Well, I'll give it another try Dave, thanks. Thing is though, as PF3 tends to give instructions (e.g. descent) as it reaches waypoints, if there are long segments immediately before ToD, I always add some false waypoints (into my PF3 copy of the plan only) so that ATC doesn't instruct me to descend ...

Sorry to be a nuisance! I have tried setting PF3 altitudes closer to those in my flight plans (I usually do tweak them in fact), but that often gives me unexpected results too. Thought I'd leave this one untouched, but it didn't come out right either. As ever, matching up LNM flight plan (original),...

I'd love to know why, yet again, on a flight from Blackpool to Teeside in this instance, ATC says I can descend from cruise altitude, when I am still in easy sight of Blackpool Tower and the three piers. OK, 'when ready' but I only just got to cruise alt and have quite a long flight ahead of me (giv...

I saw that after I posted :-) Good news: the COM log is showing ATC text again. :P All I did (surely this must be a coincidence though?) was to uncheck my options for Remote Text and recheck the boxes again, then select '60' for the time for RT to show text. Whatever, at the moment at least, the ons...

Sorry.. I was just talking about the Remote Text window. I see I can edit the cfg file (I used to know that, once upon a time)

I can't make out the blank COM log.. it used to work, as I say, up until a week or two ago. I can't see in the user guide any specific instructions on setting it up :?:

No, the window opens but no ATC text ever appears there now. Only the remote text window shows text (though quite briefly - is there a setting that dictates how long the text stays visible?).
