The issue I meet is that when asking "Request direct to final at pilot's discretion" it always gives me this error: "Only available in IFR and landing mode" wether I'm on approach or not, it does not allow me to ask a direct to final.

PF3.INI will certainly put all your configuration settings back as they were. Sounds like you have an issue. Once you've upgraded your PC just send me your activation code via email and I'll reset your account.
