I am revisiting this request of mine again. Actually I realized that VoxATC handles STARS the way I recommended: one can set a starting and ending waypoint for any given STAR (even start and end altitudes) and once one reaches the ending waypoint ATC will take back control and give vectors to final....

This is a most informative thread and talks about a major issue regarding PFE and approach procedures. I believe the issue stems from the different way as STARs are defined in Europe as in Europe the STAR would most likely get you down to the runway while in the US STARs indeed have a final waypoint...
